The Interview
Jan 15th, 2009 by Tana
I volunteered to let Alissa, photographer extraordinaire over at Life’s Little Adventures, interview me. These are the questions she sent and my answers to them.
1. Excluding your spouse, your children, your parents, and any other immediate family member, who is your favorite person? Why? No need to say names if you don’t want to…”my best friend” or “my 3rd grade teacher” is enough if you prefer…
Definitely Alissa. She sent me a Christmas card, but I didn’t send one to her (they’re her favorite thing) and she still likes me enough to let me play this little interview game. Now there’s a real friend for you. Alissa, I promise, I will send you a Christmas card next year, even if you don’t send me one.
2. Are you a dog person or a cat person? Why?
Dog. Cat’s are unreasonable.
3. If you could have any one talent and be totally and completely awesome at it naturally, what would it be? Why?
Sports. Stuff like skiing and rollerblading and ice skating look like so much fun, but I have no balance and lessons are no help. In fact, I’ve always been a klutz when it comes to any sports. That’s why I do walking as my “exercise” – it’s something I can’t fail at. But I think it would be fun to be good at it and enjoy that type of thing. I like speed.
4. Someone offers to tell you the date and time you are going to die. You know they will be telling the absolute truth. Do you take them up on their offer? Why or why not?
No. I hate deadlines. They do not motivate me. They immobilize me. Even if they told me I was going to live to be 110, I would be obsessed with it, and I would miss out on so many things in life on account of it. I’d rather live not knowing whether my last day is today or decades from now.
5. Laundry–as needed or once a week?
Uh, when I run out of underwear. We have this water softener that supposedly calculates how much water you use each day of the week and will recycle early if it thinks tomorrow is going to be a high usage day. The guy selling us the thing thought that was a really good selling point, and I agree, if you do your laundry every Saturday. But I don’t, so I’m afraid it’s recycling too early and wasting salt. Cuz sometimes I do all the laundry in one day, and sometimes I only do one load per day. I don’t think anyone could possibly be more erratic about laundry than I am.
So there you have it. Now, if you want to play, here are the rules:
- Leave me a comment saying, “Interview me.”
- I will respond by emailing you five questions. And yes, I get to pick the questions.
- You will post the answers to the questions on your blog.
- When you post your answers, you will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
- When readers comment on your post asking to be interviewed, you will send them five questions to answer on their blog.
Aww, thanks! You’re one of my favorite people, too 🙂
I can’t be interviewed because I don’t have a website to post the answers on and that would break the rules, so I get off the hook. 🙂
