The Rest of the Story

Remember the old grain truck Steve’s dad wanted to sell and Steve took the camera with him one day to take pictures of it to list it on ebay?
[Yes, that picture was taken by Steve. One of about ten that he took. I would have taken at least fifty. But that’s beside the point.]
Well, Steve sold it for his dad on ebay last week. It was funny because there was a bidding war at the end. Steve kept refreshing his screen and each time he did, a different bidder had the top bid. The bidding was around $800 less than the buy-it-now price he had set. I came home in the midst of this and checked my email as Steve was giving me the play-by-play run-down of what was going on. I opened my inbox, and the first email in the box (all the ebay messages come to my inbox) said the truck had sold for full price. Apparently one of the bidders got tired of the bidding war and hit the buy-it-now button. So I knew it had sold before Steve did, and Steve’s dad got exactly what he wanted for it.
The guys came to pick it up last weekend. They came from out of state. Not a state adjacent to our state. No, you’d have to drive through more than one state to get to where they came from. They brought a trailer with them, loaded it up, and proceeded to cut the box off the truck. This is a grain truck, mind you.
We weren’t there to see it, so I can’t tell you exactly who said what. But somewhere in the conversation Steve’s dad learned that they’re not going to restore it as an old grain truck.
Nope, that ol’ truck’s destined to be a hot rod. Can you imagine?!?
Hey, that’s a nice photo! Steve has a good eye 🙂
A hot rod, huh? Cool. My brothers would definitely approve!
