More Fishin’

Ben found a stick that looked like the perfect fishing pole.
He messed around with it for a bit, but what he really needed was a good place to use it.
Finally, I spotted him over fishing on the other side of the driveway in Lake Cornfield. Of course.
Yesterday afternoon, when I looked outside, I saw him over by the picnic table, sitting quietly in his lawn chair, holding his fishing pole as though he were fishing. When Steve got home, I told him about it.
I learned that’s not at all what it’s like when they go fishing. Ben is in perpetual motion. Won’t sit down for 2 seconds. And runs his mouth the entire time. Talk. Talk. Talk. Except for when other people come and start fishing near them. Then he just watches them and doesn’t say a word.
Ben.
That is so cool. It’s nice to know that mine aren’t the only kids amusing themselves with sticks and strings and such…I feel like too many kids today have WAY too many toys and not enough imagination.
