Eye Candy Friday

It’s rained all week, like we live in Seattle or something. I mean, I understand a front going through and bringing rain with it, but that usually lasts for about a day, not a week. I’ve managed to run errands once when it cleared a little, but I really need to go to the grocery store. With a forecast of rain and a high of 48 degrees, it’s not looking promising.
I did manage to go for a couple walks this week. During warm weather, I usually walk five times a week, first thing in the morning. When it gets cool, I try to go later as I prefer to walk when it’s warmer. But, if I go too late in the morning, Joey falls asleep during the walk and then won’t nap. Or, if I wait to go after Joey’s nap, often he sleeps late and I don’t have time to go. The sun happened to break through the clouds twice this week, and both times, I immediately dropped what I was doing, dressed up the boys so they’d be warm, and went for a much needed walk.
Ben’s been pacing like a caged animal, but every time I put his jacket on and send him outside, it starts to rain. Public radio has been campaigning all week, so I haven’t had classical music on like I normally do. So it’s either eerie silence or country music which is fun to listen to but doesn’t calm me down and help me think straight when I need to figure something out.
The weather seems to be undecided as to if it’s going to be warm or cold. Today we have a high of 48 with rain all day – tomorrow it’s supposed to be in the 60’s with sunshine. Night before last, my feet were cold all night so yesterday I got out the electric blanket. Tomorrow morning I’m sure I’ll be wishing it was still packed away. There are stacks of clothes in the bedrooms because I’ve had to get cool weather stuff out to be worn, but then we have warm spells so I can’t put the warm weather stuff away yet.
Oh, and did I mention that the sun has been up for almost two hours, but it’s so dark the lights have to be on?
I think I’m about to lose my mind.
It sounds miserable! I know I hate that cooped-up feeling I get on long winter days in the house—I hope you get some outside time here soon…
