The lazy days of summer will soon be coming to an end.
I bought steaks and hamburgers at the grocery store this week – a sort of last hurrah. Soon it will be too cold to grill outside over charcoal.
I’ve been opening the windows every day, enjoying the fresh air while it lasts. [You can see our sophisticated whole house fan in the window if you look closely.]
The leaves are starting to turn, and soon we will have six months of looking at “stick trees.” I love fall colors – sweater weather – but I’m just not quite ready for it yet.
Just give me a few more summer evenings, eating supper at the picnic table, listening to sports radio. I promise I’ll enjoy it. Promise.
I know just how you feel.
