Homeschooling - or de-schooling, as we have done - ROCKS! I also worked whilst h/s-ing but had great network of trusted friends with kids whom my boys were friends with and we shared childcare,days out,meals,camping etc...idyllic at timess...the boys had a very free childhood and while (as you so rightly say) it was hard sometimes, it has certainly paid off.
